Lotta draws her inspiration from shape and color in both nature and her
urban surroundings. Bold patterns and motifs reflect her Scandinavian
heritage. Intuitively designed, her work is organic, free and elegant.
Color is fundamental to her work. By mixing her own inks, she creates a
palette that is simple yet sophisticated and playful.
Lotta moved to California in 1991 from Sweden where she grew up. Always
attracted to pattern, she began to explore textile design after she
discovered screenprinting . Shortly after moving to San Francisco she
started her company, Lotta Jansdotter, and began producing hand-screened
designs for the home.
Lotta Jansdotter has expanded the line of home accessories to include
stationary, cushions, handbags, ceramics and table linens. Her products are
now available in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Tokyo.
